  • First snow~! :)

So our first snow came today, Tuesday, November 18, 2008, and it was beautiful!
Just soft white little flurries that slowly fluttered their way down, melting upon contact with the ground. So beautiful (and exciting) that it made me squeal as soon as I saw it!

Wish I could capture moments like those (the snowflakes, not my squeals) but I guess words will have to suffice for now. Pictures will come eventually. :)

With snow and Thanksgiving around the corner, we all know what that means: Christmas time! So this Friday a couple friends are coming over to put up my Christmas tree, and I'm pretty excited. Pictures of that will come soon too.

Hope you all are having a warm winter thus far!

  • Rain & Roaming

Not too often do you hear the news broadcast "Throughout the day today it will be quite hot. Tomorrow the entire country will have rain." (날씨- "낮에는 더워요"…내일 전국에 비 소식) I forget how small the peninsula of Korea is until I read the news and see similar-to-same temperature predicted for all the regions of Korea. Keeps it simple I guess. :) And there's the bonus of no roaming charges on cell phones, which seems even cooler when you're vacationing on the 'big island' south of Korea (Jejudo). No roaming there either. And no more "Can you hear me now??" because there are 'bars' everywhere! (besides underground of course).
More little updates like these to come :)

  • Wow...

So in my classes I've been reading a  book that challenges today's generation to live a life that is set apart from the world, and especially when it comes to relationships. To not settle for anyone other than the one that God is preparing for us.

Then today after school, two of my 9th grade girl students came in and informed me that they were challenged by the truth in the book and wrote their first letter to their future husbands!

While that may seem weird to a number of people, it made my heart swell with joy as a grin immediately spread on my face, knowing that these girls have the bigger picture in mind - wanting to honor God in this area of their life, and to trust Him with their future relationship.

We then proceeded to talk for another 45 minutes of love and life, and it was just a rich time of words of truth being spoken and being heard. Praise God for the stirring of the heart He is doing within these two girls.

Now this is what makes teaching such an incredible job. Woohoo! I love it! And I love you, Lord

  • As a sister so perfectly claims,

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

    Proverbs 31:8-9
